What are my options?
You may do one of the following:
- Plead not guilty and have a trial by judge or jury
- Plead nolo contendere (no contest) and pay the fine/court costs
- Plead guilty and pay the fine/court costs
- Request an option for dismissal if you are eligible

When is my court date?
You are not automatically set for court when you receive a citation. You are given an appearance date, meaning you must appear either in person or by mail within 20 days of receiving your citation. The appearance date is located under your signature on your citation. The state of Texas has special requirements for juveniles. Juveniles and their parent/legal guardian will receive a court date appearance by mail.
What if I cannot pay my fine?
