The engineering operations of the City is responsible for ensuring that all work conducted for new construction, rehabilitation, and Capital Improvement Programs (CIPs) are carried out using approved design standards, general industry standards, and methods. The operations also review site plans, floodplain requests, and engineering studies towards compliance with the appropriate city code and standards. The department reviews plans and issues construction permits including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, streets, sidewalks, and other infrastructure permits required by city codes.
